EXPERIENCE

Feel the beginning of a new resort experience at Sunset Del Mar Resort, where you’ll see one of the most beautiful sunsets in the world while sitting on the serene beach of Esterillos, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

A Taste of Costa Rica

Costa Rica may appear tiny on the map, but visitors quickly realize this is a destination that must be savored slowly. With 25% of its territory under protection in the form of national parks and reserves, designated wetlands, wildlife refuges and national monuments, there is plenty to see, do and experience in the land of “Pura Vida.”

Esterillos Beach

Famous for its surfing and lack of crowds, Esterillos beach is perfect for travelers seeking space and relaxation. You can stroll sections of this beach without ever seeing anyone, with palm and almond trees lining the forest edge on one side, and clear blue waters on the other.

If you’re into surfing, this part of the Central Pacific is known for consistent and clean breaks, with great waves all year round, frequently head high. If you enjoy other activities, like horseback riding, this is a prime location. Also, at low tide, the size of the beach grows dramatically, revealing a vast expanse of beautiful, dark sand.

Jaco: Costa Rica’s Booming Beach Town

Jaco is located about 20 minutes from the Sunset Del Mar Resort, and is a popular beach town for visitors. The town’s main strip runs along a long, arching beach and features palm trees, surfside hotels, and boutique shops.

It’s also known for a thriving restaurant scene, with expert chefs, wine bars, vegan restaurants, sandwich shops, authentic Costa Rican cuisine, and much more. The bar scene is also strong, with local craft beer, live music, margaritas, and the Hotel Villa Caletas (featuring a dramatic outdoor amphitheater built into the side of a cliff, perfect for a sunset cocktail).
